CHILD LEAD ACTRESS RELEASES 2nd MAGICAL ADVENTURE BOOK
CAST OF CHARACTERS JOINS NARRATOR/AUTHOR JOLIE ON HER SUBMARINE TOUR
Studio City, CA (November 16, 2009) At age 11, Jolie Vanier (von-yay) is surpassing most adults with her long list of visions and accomplishments. Now with the release of her 2nd book in the Puwaii™ Adventure series, Puwaii Adventures with Joliea & Friends…the adventures continue (Puwaii Adventures, LLC, 2009), we are being reacquainted with and introduced to a new whimsical cast of characters inspired by her own life experiences – seen through the eyes of a child with a little help from her family.
“I smooshed together some experiences I had with my globe-trotting family and voila! My characters are off on a new adventure,” says Vanier, who describes her Puwaii books as a family endeavor. “I like to ‘smoosh’ together lots of words, too. That’s how I came up with ‘Puwaii.’ I just smooshed together my favorite fashion designer, Pucci, with Hawaii and voila! Puwaii!”
We first meet our heroin/narrator, Joliea – the world’s youngest fashion designer™ – in Vanier’s first book/audio set, Puwaii Adventures with Joliea & FriendsÔ, as she shares with us her submarine adventure which begins in Malibu, California and travels to Hawaii ending in Florence, Italy. PuOie™, the magical submarine, travels anywhere they want to go and along the way she and her best friend, Sarah, and her big brother, Jared, meet up with the ocean-dwelling creatures, Starlette of Hollyfish, Dolly the dolphin and Sparkle the angelfish.
In …the adventures continue Joliea, Sarah and Jared visit Ireland and Egypt and meet new characters including, Goddess Babarina of Egypt, Lady Allison of Ireland, Robinson Pierre of Paris, brave leprechauns and the book’s dastardly villain called Jack “Le Rat.” It’s an adventure story that mixes true historical and geographical facts together with Vanier’s fantasy and serves it up with a PuwaiiÔ twist.
Both books showcase Vanier’s own original drawings. Here the reader shares her vision and sees how her imagination comes further to life with drawings depicting the story line.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity for children to enjoy my Puwaii Adventures series,” says Vanier, who divides her time between her homes in Los Angeles and Scottsdale. “My first book was inspired by a trip we took to Hawaii and also Pucci, my favorite fashion designer. In my second book we are introduced to new characters who travel the globe in PuOieÔ, the magic submarine. We visit wonderful, new locations including Egypt, Ireland and since my lead character is the world’s youngest fashion designer, of course, Paris is one of our stops.”
